John Marshall Butler Clinches NCAA Golf Championship Title with Bettinardi Putter
Bettinardi Brand Ambassador and Senior at Auburn University, John Marshall Butler, helped clinch the NCAA Golf Championship title Wednesday evening, the very first in history for Auburn University’s men’s golf team. The championship, held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, witnessed an extraordinary performance by Butler, who dominated his opponents with his outstanding putting.
Butler's victory was particularly noteworthy, thanks to his trusted Bettinardi Tour Dept. DASS BB48 putter. The final round saw Butler make a series of critical putts, including a dramatic lag putt on the 17th hole, leading to his opponent’s concession and Auburn’s title victory.
Butler has had a decorated collegiate career at Auburn University, most recently being given an Honorable Mention for PING’s 2024 All-American team. He also won the 2024 Tiger Invitational individually, while he helped his team notch an incredible 10 victories this season. Butler finishes his collegiate career with over 500 birdies made throughout his time at Auburn University.
"We are incredibly proud of J.M. Butler’s achievements throughout his impressive collegiate career and thrilled to see him putting an exclamation point on his senior season by helping to bring home Auburn University’s first men’s golf national championship," said Sam Bettinardi, President of Bettinardi Golf. "As John Marshall turns professional after his major victory, we are looking forward to watching him continue to excel on the course with his Bettinardi in the bag.”
